Description

Ferrari was racing in the pre-war days of Formula One, and after the World Championship as we know it began in 1950, Enzo Ferrari's team emerged as a major force. All in all the team has collected 14 constructors championships, six of which came in the years from 1999 to 2004 when Michael Schumacher was part of the team. Schumacher himself won five drivers titles with the Italian team.

The German was not the only famous name to drive for Ferrari over the years though. The Maranello based squad saw names like Alberto Ascari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Jacky Ickx, Clay Regazzoni, Niki Lauda, Gilles Villeneuve or Alain Prost among their ranks.

Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari passed away in 1990 and nowadays former team boss Luca di Montezemolo runs the company. Stefano Domenicali is the boss of the formula 1 squad. After two seasons that saw Renault and Fernando Alonso take the drivers and constructors title away from them, the team won the drivers' title with Kimi Räikkönen in the 2007 season. In 2008 Felipe Massa was runner-up to Lewis Hamilton but Ferrari won the constructors' title.
